Otford Station Volunteers

Welcome

We are a group of volunteers who are trying to enhance the environment of Otford Station. We are managed by the Otford Society and we work in close collaboration with the Darent Valley Community Rail Partnership.  We also receive help and support from Southeastern, Thameslink, Network Rail and Otford Parish Council.

Our achievements so far in 2022 include:

  • A new planter with flowers on Platform 1
  • Window boxes in front of the station

We are now planning:

  • The establishment of a garden on the Platform 2 side
  • Historic feature displays inside the waiting room
  • A display of heritage posters on platform 2
  • Regular pop-up shops selling local arts and crafts

Would you like to help out?

If you would like to help us please get in touch via the link below or leave your contact details with the ticket office staff at the station.

We do light cleaning and gardening on a regular basis.  There is no commitment to a rota! Extra and occasional help would be most welcome!

What is community rail?

“Community rail is a growing grassroots movement made up of community rail partnerships and groups across Britain. They engage communities and help people get the most from their railways, promoting social inclusion and sustainable travel, working alongside train operators to bring about improvements, and bringing stations back to life.” For more information, please visit the Community Rail Network  website.
